Does Munin work offline?
Yes. All 275,000 puzzles, the chess engine, reviews, cycles, themes and stats work with no internet connection, including in flight mode. You only need a connection to import your own games and to buy or restore the full version.
How do I import my games?
Open Import games, type your Lichess and/or Chess.com username, and tap Import games. Munin fetches up to your 50 most recent public games (Chess.com: from the last 12 months), analyses them on your device and adds the positions where you went wrong to your mistake book. Only public games can be imported; no password or login is needed.
What is the mistake book?
Positions from your own games where a move cost you two pawns or more. You train them like puzzles: find the better move. Your games are analysed on your device, and nothing is sent to us.
The import says the player doesn't exist, or it is slow.
Check the spelling of the username. Lichess and Chess.com limit how fast apps may ask for games; if a site asks Munin to slow down, the app waits a minute and continues on its own. You can stop an import at any time.
When do missed puzzles come back?
A puzzle you miss comes back after about 10 minutes, so you see it again in the same session. Each time you solve it, the gap grows: 1 day, 3 days, 8 days, then 21 days. Solve it at 21 days and it leaves the review queue. Miss it again and it starts over.
How is my rating calculated?
With Glicko-2, the same kind of system many chess sites use. The placement test gives you a starting rating and a rank from Pawn to King. Puzzle ratings in Munin are not the same as your game rating on any site.
How do purchases work?
Munin is free to try: everything is unlocked for your first 3 days (nothing is charged afterwards, there is nothing to cancel), and after that 10 puzzles a day are free, the daily puzzle and your reviews included. Theme drills, openings, flight sessions, cycles and the mistake book are part of the full version. Munin Full Access unlocks everything. It is a one-time purchase: you pay once and keep it. It is tied to your Apple Account, so it works on all your devices that use the same Apple Account.
How do I restore my purchase?
Open Settings in Munin and tap Restore purchases. Make sure you are signed in with the Apple Account you bought with.
Is it a subscription?
No. Munin Full Access is paid once, with no subscription and nothing to cancel. The free version stays free.
Does my progress sync between devices?
No. Your progress stays on the device where you train, and each device keeps its own. Your purchase follows your Apple Account: tap Restore purchases on your other devices.
How do I delete my data?
Delete the app: Munin keeps your data only on the device, so that removes all of it. See the privacy policy for details.
